Percy is a blast to ride. He has three comfortable gaits. He is a forward ride that thrives with a confident rider that uses their seat and has quiet hands. He loves his people and is looking for his life partner and friend or a partial or full lease. He can get a little pushy while leading on the ground particularly with new people. I lead him without a chain and with a slack rope one handed and he is fine. Because he is forward and sensitive his rider should be an advanced beginner and up. Vices: tries to rub his head on you a little bit while bridling. During beginning of ride can be a bit spooky but settles in. If you yank on his face enough time he can get irritated which results in irritated behavior ranging from head shaking to a buck. Stands to mount. Great for farrier and vet. Does not love to load but will. Currently wearing glue on shoes on front, I am an advocate of not putting nail holes in the wall of a horses foot if possible and keeping the frog stimulated for sole depth. He is currently in shape for low jumps but has coursed up to 3’6” and been over some 4’ in a line. Maintenance: occasional chiropractor if jumping and adequan or previcox. No joint injections. No previous leg injuries minus an old injury from a yearling near his hip that left a foot long scar. Hard to see unless he is clipped. He did have colic surgery in 2019 and has had no complications or special diet since. Open to a lease trial first for the right team.
