Newly imported Pure Irish Draught 6yo gelding by Carrickrock Close Shave (Foxglen Himself) out of Papillon Rouge. Great feet, bone, and presence. Beautiful natural carriage and movement. Good with dogs, hounds, kids. Out with hounds in the UK a handful of times with Essex and Puckeridge, been out here five times so far - twice with Piedmont Fox Hounds (one on their opening meet), twice with Orange County, and once with Old Dominion (all Virginia). Stands at checks, steps through (no leaping) water and mud, brave and straightforward. Turns out easily with others, no aggression or vices. Easy keeper. No kicking, biting, bucking. I've been using him to pony some green ones I'm breaking. Slowly and correctly produced, pops logs, been over some coops and stone walls and ready to move on. Show milage in the UK. Quiet and sensible, but plenty quick enough to keep up. *He is not a completely made hunter, but is in a perfect place for someone to finish him their way* This is a fancy, weight carrying, traditional Irish Draught smart enough to show in the summer and tough enough to hunt all winter. Has only hunted in the field, but would make a nice Master's horse. No known vices, full set of xrays and clean vetting done 4 months ago. (Groom's side note: this is a rare grey who likes to keep himself clean). Video and more pictures on www.MountJettStud.com
