Gabi is a very solid, no-nonsense mare who truly shines on the trail. She is said to be papered, but I do not have the papers in hand. She has been my go-to trail horse and would make an excellent endurance prospect. I have ridden her in two CTRs and she was completely in her element. She is an easygoing mare but does best with a confident, knowledgeable rider. She isn’t hot, but she does enjoy moving out and covering ground. She has the most try of any horse I have ever met. I ride her bitless in a side pull and she listens beautifully in it. She has also been ridden in a snaffle and listens to that as well, but clearly prefers the side pull. She is the kind of horse I’m comfortable letting sit for a month and then hopping on bareback for a trail ride with no drama. She is barefoot and does great, I have put her in boots for super rocky trails and she didn't mind them at all. Gabi trailers great, is excellent for the farrier, and eats and drinks well while out camping. She has been to the beach, river, oilfields, forests, and more, and takes new environments in stride. Cons / Maintenance Notes • Has had ulcers in the past. She has been on Gut-X with no further issues. August 2025 marked two years ulcer-free • Some saddling anxiety, likely related to past ulcers. Letting her walk between tightening the cinch resolves it easily Located in Taft, Ca 5.5k
