We are looking for an extraordinary person who doesn't mind putting in time and consideration before building an amazing relationship with their horse. We bought Lux when he was 4 years old. My daughter was feeling a bit done with horses and the stress that comes with them and also deciding on college. We bought him because he just was such a cool horse and I thought if she decided against eventing etc, I might want him for myself. He had been to cowcamp in the Boise area, was bred there and rode in the back of a pickup truck. He has a very chill mind underneath but also has worry in his eye from how he was treated. He does have 3 permanent what marks on his back from ill fitting western saddles. We started him very slow, taking him for walks, when riding boosting my daughter up and me leading him around the arena for one lap and getting off. Just positive things. He did great with her, we did quite a few trail rides w/t/c, he loves water, didn't love them but was good when we ran into moose 3 different times, unplussed doing a dress test in an indoor arena after never being in one, and then a stadium course (cross rails). His last show was Spring of 2025, cold, some pouring sideways rain. He just did cross rails and 18", and my daughter just was done. She was tired of shows, didn't find them fun. At this point he had bucked 2 times with her (after a jump, like a lot of young horses like to do), but he is really good at it. She did get back on and they contiunued on like nothing happened. When she decided she was done, got a job, and signed up for college, I decided we should sell him. I don't normally sell horses because of the fear of what will happen to them. I realized that at this point in my life I needed to use riding as a stress relief and stick to just my 16 year old horse, not a young horse that I would need to think. So, all this being said on what he has done, we have found he has anxiety and fear if it is someone new. Even saddling. Where as, my daughter doesn't have to tie him if she doesn't want and he just munches grass as she tacks him, a new person makes him tense and worried. So, he needs someone who might like to do a lot on the ground, liberty work (she took him to a clinic and he liked it), just build a solid foundation. We did try him with a person, and he did buck her off, but she did see it coming with his scared eyes. So, I hate for him to be sent to a trainer where they are going to "ride him through it", he needs to be with a person that isn't in a hurry to get on, and really wants to build a relationship first. He is a gorgeous guy with really nice rhythmical movement. He really loves trails too. He will jump but also doesn't really care if he hits poles. We have always kept him barefoot. He has essentially been sitting Bored for months, and he just doesn't have the personality for that, he is very curious and likes to do things. He has never been unsound. Friesian/TB/QH
