Penny is a stunning deep chestnut with all the chrome - full blaze and 4 socks. At 14.3hh she is a great height for kids and can easily carry a light adult rider as well. For the last few years she has been my daughter’s 4-H horse; drill team, halter, w/t, trail class and occasional speed events. Penny came to us over 8 years ago with arthritis due to her former life as a h/j lesson pony. As a kids 4-H horse, it has never been an issue. We have always limited regular cantering, outside of fun on the trail or out hacking in the field. She has been the perfect 4-H companion. She used to travel solo weekly to drill team practice and enjoys group rides down the road. Penny would be described as consistent, brave, and while a typical mare and not overly affectionate, she is trustworthy both on the ground and in the saddle. She is the perfect amount sass to build confidence, and a great height for kids to grow with. I would love to keep her, as she the epitome of an easy-keeper, but the daughter who rides and gives her the most attention is going off to college. Penny: - Cross ties or single ties to the trailer - Stands for farrier (cold weather I give her aspirin prior to appointment) - Trailers well, even alone - Is steady even in a chaotic environment like the county fair or open horse shows - Used to a busy farm, so good with cars, bikes, dogs, etc. We do not have to sell her. It is solely for her to receive more attention. So a great home is paramount to anything else.
