Sugar is a July 2024 Haflinger cross filly with a sweet, curious temperament and a solid, relationship based start. She had last year off from structured handling and has returned to training with impressive willingness and retention. She is friendly, people oriented, and showing steady improvement in emotional regulation appropriate for her age.

Training & Handling:
• Voluntary haltering with consistent head lowering
• Leads politely; matches pace and stops softly
• Developing energy regulation; reconnects easily after distractions
• In hand walk/trot work with soft flag cues
• Calm with tarp work, novel objects, and new environments
• Early ground tying (short duration)
• Mounting block introduction; stands quietly, accepts light pressure from above
• Flexion, backing, hind end and shoulder yields progressing nicely
• Walks poles and weaves patterns; coordination developing
• Liberty basics; responds well to redirection
• Enjoys ball play and uses it well for energy release
• Improving personal space manners with people and other horses

Temperament:
Sugar is friendly, playful, and very curious. She enjoys interacting with people and learning new things. Like any young filly, she can get excited, but she settles quickly with gentle guidance and consistently chooses to reconnect. She thrives with calm, clear handling.
Sugar is best suited for someone who values groundwork, consistency, and connection. With continued age appropriate development, she has the potential to grow into a confident, versatile partner for future riding or recreational goals.
