Beautiful, eye-catching gelding with a strong reining foundation and ranch riding experience. “Twister” has been trained by NRHA professional trainer Eric Coons and shown in AQHA and NRHA competition in reining, ranch riding, and ranch versatility classes. He has also been used in sorting, lightly started on barrels, trail ridden, and hauled throughout the Southwest.
This talented gelding has a pretty spin, big stop, smooth lead changes, and the kind of presence that gets noticed everywhere he goes. At the 2015 Sun Circuit, he was honored as the “Prettiest Horse” and awarded accordingly. He is extremely handsome with a rich chestnut coat, flaxen mane and tail, and tons of eye appeal.
Twister is cow-bred, athletic, and versatile with the pedigree and talent people look for in a western performance horse. He stands 15.1 hands and weighs approximately 1000–1100 pounds. Purchased as a 3-year-old and professionally trained in reining, he has primarily been used as a show and arena horse. Due to owner circumstances, he was never pushed hard in competition, leaving him sound, fresh, and with many good years ahead of him.
He is a sensitive and responsive horse, best suited for a capable non-pro or amateur working with a trainer, or an experienced rider wanting a fun and talented partner. He has been successfully ridden and shown by non pros and amateurs and has proven himself to be a willing and enjoyable horse.
Twister was gelded at age 11 and the owner has retained semen, which is available with purchase.
