Meet Lady! Lady is a 14 year old pinto draft cross. She is 14 hands. I've had her since September. I bought her to be a friend for my appendix mare and a family trail riding horse. She is a little too fast pace for my none horsey family. Her old owners used her as a trail horse, and from the videos I saw, she was great at it, but since I have had her she doesn’t seem as happy to go outside the arena. She is great on the ground. Picks up all four feet like a champ. She has wonderful feet and she is barefoot. She had her teeth done in September. And was just wormed. Her coggins is also up to date. She is a pretty easy keeper. Just gets hay in the winter and in summer she is on pasture 24/7. She ties and loads into a trailer. She has had kids around her and on lead line, but off the lead line she needs an advanced beginner or an intermediate rider because she is speedy. She has never offered a buck, rear, bolt or bite. She is very gentle and kind. She is responsive to leg and voice commands. She does great with ground work and she will follow you around like a puppy. She is barn sour and she gets anxious when she is alone. She does great around kids, dogs, cats, goats, chickens, and cows. She has also been around tractors and lawn mowers. She rides Western and has also been started on English. I have ridden her without a bridle, and I have done a little bit of jumping with her and she does great. She has also been ridden bareback. She is pretty athletic and she can ride for miles. She hasn't been consistently worked since I bought her, but she doesn't go crazy when you ride her again after being in the pasture for a while. She would be a great horse for someone to do whatever they want with. She could be a great youth pony for a kid who knows how to ride. I think that she could be a great mama, therapy horse, or even just a pasture pet because she is perfectly content to relax in a field all day.
