Nevada is an 11 year old mustang searching for a new home. Being all black with a bald face, 4 high white socks, and even a little belly spot, she will sure catch anyone's eye. Nevada has a more spirited nature, and is not an in your pocket type of horse. In all honesty- she will bring the drama, wants to know the drama, and IS the drama herself. For the last 4 years, Nevada has been living on 24/7 pasture in a small mixed herd, and overall she does well with most other horses. She is not high in the pecking order and does not tend to cause trouble with the other horses either. In 2023 Nevada did suffer a minor ligament injury, which also led to the diagnoses of high ringbone in her right front foot. Since then, she has fully healed and has been 100% pasture sound. Nevada does have strong groundwork skills and will lunge well in and out of the round pen. She is also good for the farrier and ties well. Nevada previously had extensive saddle training, but I have not personally ridden her since before her ligament injury. Therefore, I advise at the very least an intermediate to advanced rider for her. She unfortunately has not been a priority for me, which is why I am advertising her, so that she can go to someone who will appreciate who she is. If you are looking for a horse who is naturally attuned to liberty work - look NO FURTHER! This is the one. I have never worked with a horse who has so naturally picked up on liberty cues and strongly believe she could have a beautiful future as a liberty horse. Her vices do include that she can be hard to catch, she is difficult to deworm, and difficult to give injections to. Personally, I know how to get these things done without a fuss, and the more she is worked with, the less dramatic she becomes. Ideally, I would like her to go to a home that would pursue more liberty work with her, or have her as a recipient mare or a companion horse.
