-“Timber,” a 16.2 hh, 19-year-old, dark bay, large-bodied thoroughbred. Pictures available upon request.
-Has been our family’s horse since early 2024. He is ridden by my 12-year-old daughter and I. He is well-loved by our family.
-Available for partial lease, 3 days/week, on-site in Orange County, Virginia (about 30 minutes from Fredericksburg) for $225/month flat fee*. Includes use of his tack and riding facilities. May consider lease-to-own for the right fit, but we cannot contemplate parting with him yet.
*Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays except for one Saturday approximately every other month with notice (open to negotiation of days); we can negotiate if you’d like to take him to trails or shows also
-He is best suited for an advanced/confident beginner or intermediate rider (or beginner like me with close trainer supervision* ) due to his strong personality. He is well-loved, but he can be “spicy” at times. He is intelligent and hardworking.
*Lessons with on-site trainer (not included in price) will be required to ensure good fit if being leased (duration of this requirement can be negotiated).
-Used in lessons (primarily English hunter), schooling shows, trail-riding, and a hunter pace.
-Slowly recovering from a chronic left hind tendon injury and has been cleared by the vet for flatwork only at this time (no jumping). This also means he needs someone who will be mindful of his workload and attentive to his comfort level.
