Hunter Hunter is a six year old, turning seven in May Irish draught/quarter horse cross. His sire is Sky’s Blue Bentley son of Sky’s Blue Boy. He stands at 16.2 hands with a very stocky build. I bought Hunter as a yearling from his breeder, started him under saddle myself when he was 2/3, and I’ve had him ever since. Hunter has mostly done basic English flat work - walk, trot, canter, pole work, simple lateral work along with some trail riding and a handful of local schooling shows. Due to his age and size I would not recommend him for a beginner rider, children or seniors as I would estimate Hunter at close to 1250 pounds and he wears a 56” English girth. Hunter is very intelligent and incredibly sweet - he loves attention and he licks! He is my Vet’s and bodyworker’s favorite. Once he recognizes you as his person he will come running across the pasture to greet you. Bonus if you bring him a Bosc pear. He has a good temperament, he’s easy to train and is mentally very steady as a large, young, performance horse. I currently have my Vet inject his hocks and coffin joints annually. He does have radiographic changes in both hocks. I have old radiographs that I would be happy to share with buyers. I feel that Hunter would excel as a walk/trot, trail horse as he is inconsistently reactive in the canter transition and I believe this is due to his hocks. Hunter does all the basics in which a horse needs to do, stands tied, cross ties, stands for the farrier, good for the vet, good in the stall, loads in the trailer, clips, baths, no vices, etc. No history of colic. Hunter was turned out with other horses until he was about two years old. He has not been out in a herd setting since then. He is up to date on teeth, shots, coggins, sees the farrier every 6 weeks, bodyworker once monthly and received his joint injections this January. My preference would be that Hunter goes to an experienced horse person who wants a lovely low/medium level riding companion. Would consider a lease to purchase. He currently works 3 days per week. This is not a first come first served sale, the best home and situation will be prioritized. Monroe, washington $12,500 Text 4257701478 for photos
