Looking for the right match. 8 year old 16.2h Trakehner gelding. Coming back into work after a soundness issue. He developed a left front leg lameness last fall. We performed extensive diagnostics with no major findings. Put him out to pasture for 4 months. Front shoes put on in January and gradually started working him again, slowly increasing the level of work. Prior to lameness he was showing training level dressage with older amateur owner, scores in the 60s-70s. Schooling first and some second level movements. In your pocket personality. Loves his people, gets along well with other geldings, stands in cross ties, good for farrier and vet, trailers well, easy keeper. I would like to see him go to someone that is interested in lower level dressage, pleasure riding. Without knowing what caused the lameness, I don’t know that he will be able to do the more collected work. He would be happy just being lightly ridden a couple times a week or doing the occasional show. He’s very smart and is not for a beginner. He does best with clear rules and consistency. He has done some trail riding but would need more miles to be a solid trail horse. Happy to share all veterinary reports and diagnostics.
