10yr old mare. 15H I started her last year. she is on the fun side of fancy green broke. Very smart mare whtoo reads her rider. I took her on trails for the first time since last year, and she was absolutely amazing. Lead, followed, crossed a creek and bridge. The horses I was with walked a bit faster, Malibu only trotted up a couple times. Super easy to correct. By the end, she didn't even try. Malibu is definitely an in your pocket type of mare. She picks up exactly where you left her, even with a couple months off. Malibu has a slight structure issue in her foot bone which requires her to be trimmed with less heal on her front feet, and receive Adequan. I ride her very regularly and have no issues with lameness. I do keep bell boots on her when shaud. She has a nice over stride. And beautiful movement. Malibu would make an excellent equitation and trail horse. I think she'd be the perfect family horse. She is a confident mare that truly tries for the rider. Not too much phases her. I did a flag clinic with her recently, which caused her biggest spook in a year, but it was very manageable. By the end, even though she was not sure of the flag, she still listened, and tracked the flag on her own. I do not recommend this horse for endurance, jumping, or timed events. She is too good of a mare to be broken down doing something she is not built for.
