Stormy is a beautiful 16YO gray Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. He has an extensive history of riding hundreds of miles on multiple California trails in small groups and in large groups of over 200 horses. Hence his age and breed, he is a very forward mover and has lots of energy. He has a comfortable sitting trot and moves beautifully off of rein and leg pressure. He can use a 5in snaffle bit or jaw style pull with a hackamore. It is recommended for Stormy to be handled by adults only, or have a one on one activity with a child. Stormy tends to get overwhelmed with too much crowding at once, especially children. IMPORTANT: Stormy has an old deep digital flower tendon injury in his right front hoof. The injury healed a few years ago and does not have issues. Going forward, in order to maintain good condition it is best that he avoids trails with steep downhill grades due to his tendon. He had a mild laminitis episode in 2025 caused by undiagnosed insulin resistance. The laminitis has been resolved and he has been cleared for work at the end of year 2025. To maintain his thyroid condition, he needs to take a daily prescription to avoid another laminitis episode. DIET: Stormy only eats Bermuda hay and timothy hay pellets with his daily meds. He CANNOT have alfalfa or high sugar - high starch foods. Avoid frequent sweet treats. This is to prevent another laminitis episode on top of his daily meds. MEDICAL AND SHOEING: Stormy is UTD on all vaccines since March/April of this year. His last dental float was in March this year, along with a canine tooth extraction. His last worm was done this April. He gets front shoes, plates and fill in gel pads every 6 weeks. Stormy has warts in his ears and top of poll. He had the warts removed a couple years ago but they grew right back. They do not bother him at all BUT he doesn't like his ears touched. He will not explode, he just moves his head away from you.
