Cody is the kindest and best trail horse I've owned in 70 years of riding. He's forded every river and walked past bears, deer, cows, goats, inflatable dragons. Prefers a companion but goes out alone. Doesn't care if he's first or last. Never rushes or puts a foot wrong. If it's a new challenge or obstacle, he'll take a look, process, and figure it out. The barn favorite at every barn. First to greet you at the gate, easy keeper, barefoot. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this boy. It hurts me to say he's sadly for sale as age and health have told me it's time to hang up the spurs. He's never bucked, bolted, reared, kicked or pinned his ears at a human in the 5 years I've owned him. Rarely spooks, and when he does he self-corrects and stops. No vices, stands stock-still for mounting, tidy in his stall. Self-loads, easy to trailer. I ride him English in a snaffle -- he's also great in a bitless bridle or halter and leadrope. Needs a custom saddle with breastplate to accommodate his laid-back shoulder, short back and big hip. He's been schooled in dressage by Bronze-medal rider and knows his lateral work (leg yield, turn on forehand/haunches, sidepass) but has never been shown except in competitive trail. His temperament is beginner friendly, but he'll need a more experienced rider to sort out his gaits: walk, running walk, trot, canter, foxtrot, and a pace that shows up when he's not fit. Barefoot, easy keeper, up to date on shots/teeth/feet/Coggins. To an approved home only!
