I am gauging potential interest for my boy. I have had him for 2 years and got him as an unhandled 10yo. He is broke to ride and really fun in the arena. I have taken him out alone on trails dozens of times and he does well. Pros: Easy to catch, good with other horses, not herd bound whatsoever, smart. No kick, has great ground manners. Has great energy but not too hot. W/T/C/G. Has good brakes, side passes, picks up correct leads. Now the reasons I am looking to rehome him: he is bipolar and spooky. One day he is fine with reins going over his head, the next he acts like I’ve never done it before in his life. He will load just fine but hates trailering. He is a ball of anxiety going anywhere new. We go somewhere every single weekend and no calming supplement affects him. It has come to feel like I am torturing this poor horse trying to get him over his anxieties. He is great on trails, but speedy and jiggy and again, hates trailering. I am looking to see if anyone would like a spooky boy to have fun with at home, or even just to have a pretty horse in your pasture. He needs patience and kindness. He will not forgive you if you are rough with him. Absolutely not for beginners. I would say he is pretty safe, I can crawl under him, use a blower on him, doesn’t matter but he has his days where everything is scary. This horse will probably need work his entire life. I enjoy him, but am looking to do much more with my horse, and cannot afford to have more than one. He is a special boy, he was very neglected. He needs shoes on all 4s. He is a hard keeper. He is utd on absolutely everything including teeth, X-rays on all legs and his spine, has tested negative for all muscle or neuro problems. If you are still reading this, and you still are interested in taking him on, good for you!
