Calm and level headed.. Extremely sure-footed. Crosses any raging river, navigates safely through downed timber and up and down the steepest path in high altitudes. Gives you no bs for loading, saddling, farrier… Lives in Dubois as one of two personal, loved horses. Never bucked. He is friends with dogs and traffic. No stranger to elk and grizzly bears and high altitude. He lives at almost 8000 feet. You can ride him bareback through the city. Real life references: My outfitter buddy had him 3 months straight in the high mountains for hunting as his lead horse and as his pack horse on rest days. He said “Moose is golden. He is a good war horse. A go-getter and no plug. Safe to ride.” The reason I sell him. My new boyfriend has never been on a horse. Last year I strapped him onto Lil’ Moose and let him follow me up to 10,000 feet all last summer. Moose did it all and was a safe horse for him. However, my boyfriend doesn’t even know how to steer a horse and he never made him work. Under his saddle Lil’Moose started eating grass on the trail and gradually ignoring cues of the reins, shaking his head when asked to do real work and just having his own agenda. All in a safe way. Never reared or bucked. So we came to the conclusion that my boyfriend needs a beginner horse and lessons and Lil’ Moose needs an intermediate rider that keeps him engaged.
