Roscoe is your guy.
Roscoe is a HANDSOME ultra calm and kind hearted gelding! He is slow to warm around new people but will be your best friend once he gets to know you. He greets me at the gait every morning with a nicker and follows me around everywhere wanting scratches and cuddles.
He came to me from an amish seller. Roscoe previous job was pulling the produce wagon and leisure riding. He was used primarily for driving.
Currently he has been working hard on his ground work training and is coming along nicely!
About 5-6 days per week he is being worked with and trained on the ground. He has been out on walks with on the trail and on a few rides.
He is best suited for an intermediate handler. He can be reactive to “non-Amish” or English things and is showing progress as desensitization training continues.
He knows the basics under saddle, has a great stop, responds to a “woah”. He moves off leg pressure and direct reigning. He’s more woah than go with very comfortable gaits. He has been on the trail and in the arena. He will do great with a handler who will continue his desensitization and give him the confidence around new things!
- [ ] On the ground he backs to verbal command and yields hind quarters. He lounges on a lead line and will stop and come when given the cue.
- [ ] He’s ready for someone to continue his training and refine his skills under saddle. He has a rock solid foundation. Once he builds some more confidence, he will make a phenomenal trial horse!!
He loads , stands tied, grooms well, but needs more training picking up all 4 feet as he was used to being handled in stocks. He is getting better and better as we go along.
Reason for selling- I am a green rider and need a horse with more skills under saddle and more desensitization under their belt.
