Suddenly Intoxicated, affectionately known as “Bacardi,” is a handsome 7-year-old AQHA gelding standing approximately 15.2 hh. He is also double registered with APHA, with duplicate papers currently being processed.
Bacardi is a versatile all-around gelding with experience in trail riding, cow work, jumping, team penning, and ranch-style activities. He has an easygoing, laid-back personality and is happiest when enjoying a mix of fun rides and light arena work.
On the trails, Bacardi is exceptionally safe and reliable. He rides quietly on a loose rein, confidently crosses water, logs, rocks, and difficult terrain, and is equally comfortable leading, following, or riding out alone. He remains calm even after time off and adapts easily to new environments, making him an ideal camping and adventure partner.
In the arena, Bacardi rides western, english, and bareback. He offers smooth western pleasure-style gaits, soft responsiveness, and user-friendly controls including neck reining, pivots, side passing, backing, and lead transitions. While naturally more “whoa than go,” he willingly moves forward when asked.
One of Bacardi’s standout qualities is his love for jumping. He is soft, honest, and uncomplicated over fences with a gentle jump that is comfortable to ride. He shows excellent potential for hunter jumper, ranch riding, or continued all-around development.
He has previous show experience and has also participated successfully in cow sorting and team penning nights. Quiet and level-headed in busy show environments, he is suitable for riders wanting a dependable partner for fun competition and leisure riding.
Bacardi is easy to keep, requires no maintenance, and can comfortably live in a stall or pasture environment. He is good for the vet and farrier, up to date on routine care, and loads well into trailers.
He does currently have harmless baby warts on his nose that are expected to disappear naturally over time according to veterinary advice.
Bacardi would best suit a home that values both trail riding and enjoyable all-around activities. He is a unique gelding with personality, versatility, and reliability, ready to make his next owner very happy.
