Meet Curly—a stunning buckskin with a huge heart and striking presence. With a gorgeous head, big hip, and undeniable eye appeal, he turns heads everywhere. Kind and confidence-building for new riders, yet talented enough for professionals, Curly has been with us since he was a yearling. Although always quiet and gentle, we are proud of the horse he’s become. His easygoing nature means no drama. He is one of Paje’s heart horses and a cousin to her famous black horse, Hammy.

Curly loves attention and casual rides yet is ready if there is a job to tend to! Our 9-year-old niece, a beginner, favors him for his gentle nature and his ability to listen to her cues (her words). He moves smoothly, starts and stops easily, and blends beauty with usability. Short-legged riders cue him with ease. He lopes very nicely, has a trot you can sit, and guides so willingly whether the rider prefers a tighter or loose rein.

He excels in and out of the arena, handles trails respectfully, works confidently on the ranch, and shines as a heel and breakaway horse who is also a nice head horse! Breanna Jenkins showed him at this year's Royal Crown, reaching the breakaway short round and earning three credits. He stands out in roping and ranch work, like sorting, doctoring, gathering, and branding.

Curly grew up as a snowbird in “God’s country,” Montana, and the deserts of Arizona. On the trail, he’s reliable—sure‑footed in both mountains and desert. He confidently crosses water, steep terrain, bridges, and logs, unfazed by bikes, tarps, equipment, buffalo, or dogs. We have taken Curly on overnight pack trips into the mountains and during fall hunts, where he has had to picket, hobble, and ground-tie!  Curly is one you can ride the trail on and eat your lunch, he's that solid! He rides the same after time off, mounts curbside, hauls well, and has great ground manners. Friendly and people-loving, he’ll meet you at the gate, ready for anything.

Curly keeps like a church mouse in the pasture with other horses, as well as in the trailer. He isn’t just exceptional, he becomes part of the family, leaves a lasting impression, and makes each ride something to look forward to. He has made many memories for our family, and we are excited to share him with you! Curly is sound and has cleared our high sale veterinary standards with radiographs and current on dental, worming and farrier care.
