Is anyone out there looking for a project? Well, I've got one for ya. If you're the type of person who likes a challenge, but not one that's going to end your life, look no further! Teddy (he is actually really sweet) is a 10 year old OTTB gelding looking for someone who can tolerate his brand of BS under saddle. He will throw his head up in the air, look around at everything, create his own drama, and then fight you over it. It's true that he's not going to rear, bolt, or buck, but he will shy at the same jump block he's trotted by 20x already. He will also stand under umbrellas, walk over tarps, and not refuse jumps despite being new at it... so I guess it just depends on how many goldfish died in Japan last month, idk. The fact is, I need a horse that is more of a weekend warrior, and Teddy needs a job. He needs someone who is going to ride him almost every day until he's so dull that he doesn't have the energy to act a fool. He truly does best in a 5 or 6 day a week program, but my husband seems to think he married me so we could spend time together or whatever. On the ground, you can tack him up without so much as a halter on. He loves kids and will happily take treats from them, accidentally biting their hands in the process and teaching them the valuable life lesson of listening to you when you already told them 20x to hold their hand flat. He puts up with my husband, who gave him Mr. Ed's voice. I'm not sure that's a pro, but at least he doesn't cower in the back of the stall when a man comes around like my first horse did. The truth of the matter is this is a horse who needs a pro or an ammy in a program with a pro. I am not that person. Teddy won his first show in October and has a ton of potential for the right person. He even jumped a 12-13hh mustang once, right after someone told me he had no scope. 16hh and is currently barefoot.
