For Sale: Teddy ,17-year-old 14’3 Grade Horse Looking for a new bestie that will love you within 5 minutes of meeting? Well, look no further. Teddy lives up to his name as a teddy bear in a horse’s body. He’s as in your pocket as they get and may have been a Golden Retriever in a past life. Vet aged at 17, don’t let his age fool you – he’s got LOTS of life left in him. He’s the kind of horse you can point and shoot at a jump, and he’ll take care of it – in fact, don’t get in his way. Previously a show jumper and advanced lesson horse, he’s looking for a step-down role but would still love to hit up some shows and show everyone what he’s got. Under saddle he can be a little hot if you don’t lunge first (think “I just had a large, iced coffee and need to find a restroom” hot) but doesn’t have any buck, spook, bolt or rear in him. He has a big trot that makes him feel a lot bigger than he is and a canter as smooth as butter. Suitable for a confident intermediate rider working with a trainer and up, he’s a lot of fun to ride and would love to find his person to spend the rest of his riding days with. He could *maybe* be an advanced beginner horse with some more consistent work. Brave on the trail, over obstacles, and really in any situation, he’s the kind of horse you can have a lot of fun with. He trailers beautifully, loves water, couldn’t care less about dogs, and we’ve yet to throw anything at him that he hasn’t taken in stride – both living at a busy boarding barn and in a backyard barn as well. He’s happy alone or with others, in a stall or living out, and has yet to show any indication of buddy sourness. His only real quirks are things he learned as a lesson horse – trying to rub his head on you after you bridle him, being a little pushy around food – basically trying to see what he can get away with but quickly respects you if you make your leadership clear. Additionally, he can randomly be weird about his right ear being touched – some days it’s fine, others you need to bridle him slowly as he doesn’t want it touched. He’s a cool guy that has a lot of life left in him and is just looking for his perfect person. He’s currently barefoot but could use shoes or boots if your planning to do a lot of trail riding as he can be a little ouchy on rocks. He also takes Cough Free in the spring as he seems to have some mild seasonal allergies. Asking $5500 for a quick sale. Comes with bridle and martingale. Please message me for videos.
