Amos is a stunning, dark buckskin gelding standing 15.2 hands tall. Amos was foaled on 5/3/2022 and is registered in the MFTHBA. He is sired by Barron’s Mark of Fame who stood at Seiner-Glaser Stables, by Perfection’s Baron Star by Toddy’s Perfection and out of the mare Buttons and Lace LJ owned by our late, dear friend Larry Schenewerk who is sired by the stallion I’m Billy The Kid by He’ll Be Entertainment. For those who knew Larry, this cross was well thought out with the goal of bringing out the best qualities possible of the breed. This is an amazing young gelding with a pedigree packed with old lines. Here is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as we are offering, for the first time ever, a perfectly matched, buckskin pair of half-brothers, who are registered MFTs as a potential his and her pair! We have had the opportunity to own Amos since he was a weanling and have been his only owner outside of his breeder. In that time, Amos has been able to learn and grow in a professional training setting for his entire life receiving age-appropriate training through every stage! Horses with a resume like this young man is packing are not offered every day! Amos is extremely gentle and is easy to catch. He loves human attention and interaction and is always willing to do what he can to please his handler. Amos stands tied great, is easy to tack up, will lower his head to take a bit and put on a bridle, and will walk off calmly ready to go for a ride. Amos has had extensive groundwork over the last 4 years and can successfully complete all tasks through Clinton Anderson’s method of the Fundamental, Intermediate, and Advanced programming. Amos will stand to be mounted from the ground or will side pass over to any obstacle for ease of mounting for his rider and will walk off on a loose rein without getting in a rush. He has a light mouth and responds amazingly well to the cues of his rider. He flexes both directions, yields his fore and hind quarters on cue, side passes, will neck rein or direct rein, will ride collected, and backs. He will even already ride without a bridle and bareback! Amos has a great, relaxed flat foot walk, a beautiful, stylish, head-shaking trail/show walk, will fox-trot, running walk, and canters! He will pick up his correct leads, lope circles with ease, and has a big stop. He has been through desensitization lessons his entire life with all kinds of things that could possibly be scary such as balls, tarps, plastic bags, flags, inflatable tube men, leaf blowers… you name it! Amos loads, trailers, and unloads great. He also stands well for bathing, clipping, and fly spray. Amo will ride down the gravel, county roads, or the trails without any worries and will do so alone or with a group of horses. When in a group he already has experience riding as the lead horse or will fall in the middle or the back of the pack without any hassle. He is confident and not spooky, traffic safe, use to 4 wheelers, UTVs, and farm machinery.
