I got Gideon in 2018 and these last four years he has developed COPD, and I am looking for a place where he can get out of the Willamette Valley and into a dry perhaps, fresh air, cooler climate to help control his allergies to all the pollen here in the valley. I have tried so hard to keep him comfortable, but I seem to fail, and it just breaks my heart to see him suffer. I will not recommend him for a first time horse owner because of the special care that he needs. I have him on Twenty-Four carrot, seasonal allergies supplement and steroids to help keep him comfortable during his flareups. My vet recommended to try and get him into a dryer climate to see if it would help him. I don’t know his age for sure, but I would say he is in his late teens around 18 he has really good joints for an old man easy keeper, he is on the fatter side. I pony ride kids on him, he is good for the farrier ( barefoot as of right now recommend front shoes if out on rocky trails), loads great, trail riding was the main thing I did with him, very sensitive with leg, would recommend someone that knows how to ride a horse he will test his rider to see what he can get away with. Please don’t waist my time or yours the perfect home is a must. I will be picky.
