Bonnie (the wannabe Clyde) is the first foal we've produced by crossing our Gypsy Vanner and Brabant stock and boy did it work! She is fancy, fancy, fancy and as sweet and curious as can be. While her sire, RGR Boondock Saint, is a registered Gypsy Vanner standing 14.1 Bonnie came out looking all draft- just like a little Clydesdale. Her 50% Brabant/50% Percheron dam stands 16.3 hands tall and Bonnie looks to be favoring her mom in the size department.
Bonnie will be registered in the Appendix Record with the European Brabant Registry of America. A double registration with the Gypsy Horse Registry of America may be available (pending registry approval) for an additional cost.
I think Bonnie would make the perfect family horse. She already loves kids and is very patient and kind with my wild 2 and 4 year old boys. She is inquisitive and pretty much fearless. She could be used for trail or pleasure riding, or broke to drive a carriage or work in the woods. We are so pleased with this cross and will be producing more Brabant/Gypsies in the future!
