Beautifully bred Warmblood by Belissimo M × Don Frederico (Bolero–Donnerhall damline), Bella combines exceptional German performance bloodlines with the kind of temperament that is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Exceptional movement can be trained. Character cannot. Bella possesses both talent and a genuinely kind mind.
Unlike many horses her age, Bella has been thoughtfully developed rather than intensively campaigned. With one foal in 2023 and moderate competition mileage, she remains physically and mentally fresh, with plenty still to offer her next partner.
Produced through dressage by an adult amateur who values kindness, correct development and long-term soundness over quick results, Bella has earned scores into the low 70s at First Level schooling shows and high 60s at USDF Recognized competitions while confidently schooling Second Level with beautiful, supple lateral work, has been introduced to flying changes and is beginning Third Level.
As an ex-eventer, I honestly wish I'd owned Bella ten years ago. Brave, confident, naturally athletic and careful over fences, she loves to jump, is unfazed by fillers and liverpools, has a balanced gallop and very little spook. I believe she has all the qualities to excel in dressage, eventing, jumpers, or with an ambitious junior or adult amateur working with a trainer.
Her greatest quality, however, is her character. At six, at her very first horse show, I unloaded her at an unfamiliar venue, walked into the office to collect my number, and when I returned she was peacefully napping at the trailer before I'd even tacked her up. That quiet confidence has defined her ever since.
Interestingly, the last three horses I've produced have all gone on to 11- and 12-year-old junior riders. Not because they were specifically produced as children's horses, but because I believe kindness, confidence and thoughtful development create horses people genuinely enjoy partnering with.
Bella is affectionate, easy to handle, haul and travel. Forward-thinking and athletic, she is remarkably honest, emotionally steady and genuinely enjoys her work. She was also a wonderful broodmare, producing an outstanding Diesel CF colt.
