Cooper is a 6-year-old, 15.2-hand, golden buckskin gelding with a temperament as gorgeous as his color. This is the kind of gelding everyone is hunting for but rarely finds.

Laid-back, and steady. Cooper is never in a hurry and is happiest just cruising along. He will walk down the trail for hours, happily going out alone or in a group. Ask him to step it up and he’ll easily pick up speed and single-foot, but his natural preference is to take life slow and smooth.

His gait is exceptionally comfortable—slow, soft, and easy to sit—making him a dream for riders who want to enjoy the ride, not fight for it. He’s been ridden on the road, through town, over rough trails, in water, and anywhere else you care to point him. He simply goes where he’s aimed and does his job.

Cooper has the genes to rack fast and can rack up to 20 mph but he prefers to gait along at slower speeds. He can flat walk, running walk, fox trot, saddle gait and rack.

On the ground, he’s as sweet and friendly as they come, a true “in-your-pocket” gelding and always the first one to meet you at the gate. He gets along with everyone in the pasture—mares, geldings, minis, babies—and tends to stay low in the pecking order. He never causes trouble and is just as content in a stall.
