Shorty is a gentle giant with an "in your pocket" personality who truly loves people. He’s the horse that everyone at the barn falls in love with. This handsome gelding is a true push ride with excellent ground manners and is looking for his next partner to enjoy all he has to offer.
Shorty is a versatile partner with both English and Western training backgrounds. He has show experience and experience traveling off property – including a trip to the 2022 AQHA World Championship show where he earned overall Champion ribbons in Western Dressage Basic Level and Training Level Dressage. Locally, he competed at several Dressage schooling shows and consistently earned scores in the mid-60s. Shorty also has experience with trail riding and exposure to working equitation obstacles.
Due to his senior owner's health changes, Shorty is available to a loving new home where he can continue to shine. He would make a wonderful partner for a youth or amateur rider looking for a kind, experienced horse, or for anyone wanting a dependable horse to love and enjoy. As a true push ride, Shorty is happiest with a rider who enjoys a relaxed, partnership-focused approach and values a steady, willing horse over one with lots of go. He'd love a home where he can continue to school, hit the trails, or attend the occasional show while enjoying a slower pace of life.
Shorty does require medical maintenance for navicular changes and arthritis in his hocks, and his well-being is our highest priority. Price is negotiable to the right home, but finding someone committed to keeping this wonderful horse happy, healthy, and well cared for is far more important than the sale price.
