For my friends that are looking for a nice, quiet, prospect to bring along. Very kind type of horse. I don’t have a ton of video currently, but you get the gist of the type of brain he has. More video will be available after the heat wave. Cashew Four Year Old Gelding 15.3 Standardbred/Percheron Cross Double Gaited Cashew has been very simple, step on and go. While still young and green, he has a lovely brain, a kind thought process, and loves to explore the great outdoors. Stands great at the mounting block. Leaves the barn easily. Loves to hack out and has spent most of his rides solo, but also happy to hack out with another horse as well. Great with my dog hot on his heels. Unbothered by wildlife jumping or flying up or cannonballing across the creek or in the bushes right next to him. He likes to go visit the cattle out on our rides. We’ve been working on learning how to open and close a hand gate and he has been great about that! Not spooky, not looking for something to spook at, and doesn’t hold onto any nervousness. Hacks out on the buckle. Has not offered to buck, bolt, rear, spin, etc. Quiet, but not dead and has a workmanlike mentality. Cashew has all the tools to make someone a very nice trail partner, foxhunter, husband horse or pleasure driving partner. The type of horse for the rider who just wants to go out and enjoy the outdoors and be safe about it. Cashew is double gaited. He does have a very nice ground covering trot, but he will also offer and pretty smooth pace as well. I have not ridden many gaited horses in my life and was shocked at how comfortable and smooth it was. Once I figured out how to ask him for what I wanted, he caught on pretty quickly when I wanted a trot and when I wanted a pace. He has a very friendly disposition on the ground and is quite personable. Easy to catch, stands tied, enjoys being groomed, low-middle of the totem pole in turnout, and pretty simplistic all around. No vices or soundness issues. Quiet as a church mouse in his stall and happy to go out and eat in turnout. He has had a good, kind start with his previous owners that purchased him as weanling, breaking him to ride and drive and has continued to be a gem for us as well. Should he still be around, I will plan to get him out to hound exercise mid July! Coatesville, PA Call or text 6107455442 FMI.
