Meet Nordy – The Horse Everyone Wishes They Had

For the past 10 years, Nordy has been a beloved member of our family and the horse we could always count on. He's the definition of a true all-around gelding—honest, dependable, and the same horse every time you pull him out.

Nordy spent many years competing in youth barrel racing and has also done well in 4-H pleasure classes. In recent years, he's become our go-to trail horse, happily carrying riders of all experience levels. Whether you're an experienced horseperson or someone just gaining confidence in the saddle, Nordy takes care of his rider.

He's exceptionally quiet and level-headed. He isn't the type to spook or overreact, and he's happy riding alone or with a group. He crosses water, handles bridges, is comfortable around dogs, traffic, and livestock, and takes new places and situations in stride. He's the kind of horse you can saddle up and simply enjoy.

Around the barn, Nordy is just as easy. He's easy to catch, loads and trailers well, stands quietly tied, is good for the farrier, and has good manners on the ground. He's sound, has excellent feet, and has no known health issues. At 19 years old, he still has plenty of life left and enjoys having a job.

This is a hard decision because Nordy has meant so much to our family. We want to find him a home where he'll continue to be loved, appreciated, and enjoyed for years to come.
