Katy can excel in many areas. She could be a great scent tracking search and rescue horse. I have watched her follow old rabbit tracks across the whole arena. She scents her way through the forest. She is happy to work independently.

She is sound with lovely smooth gaits and a natural aptitude for collection that makes working equitation easy and fun.

Katy is professionally and well started including time with a classical dressage trainer who commented that she is capable of doing upper level work without a whip--she is light and forward. And she noted that Katy will connect strongly with her person much as a dog does.

She carries a roan gene that is rare in the lusitano breed. If bred she could produce many different colors. She was born palomino. She has never been bred.

Katy is curious about the world and likes to go down the road or trail. Because of her owner's situation she has not been in work and is out of shape. However, she has been well handled and is happy and current on trims, teeth, vaccines and deworming.

Katy needs a living arrangement with other horses and space to roam with limited grass. Acreage and a herd. She is a fair lead mare who is concerned about the welfare of all of the horses on the property.
