Addie has had more than a year of professional training, focusing on a slow and correct start with long term soundness in mind. She's been exposed to a variety of disciplines and environments, and it was then that we suspected our lives might be far too boring for fun-loving Addie. In the arena, across open fields, or on the trail, she was game for anything. Competing at her first derby, she put in a perfectly pleasant dressage test, but she just SMILED when she calmly and confidently cantered the cross-country course. When we brought Addie home after nearly a year in full training, the assistant told us she was sorry to see her go, and that Addie was her first choice when she wanted a fun and uncomplicated ride. We have confirmed that dressage only, day in and day out, really isn’t enough to keep this talented gal inspired. We feel she’d be best suited in an Eventing, Pony Club, Equestrian Team, 4-H, or combined driving type of home, where cross training and variety in the work will keep her interested. She loves attention and will happily stand for hours for grooming, so long as you keep touching her please. She is healthy and up to date on all routine veterinary, dental and farrier care (barefoot with excellent feet), and she has a microchip for any future USEF needs. She measures at 14.2 hands and shouldn’t have issues getting a pony card. She is not marish at all (a bit of a tomboy, really), keeps a tidy stall, and also does well on full turnout. She loads and trailers well and is the same ride in new places as she is at home. She is a level-headed, uncomplicated, push ride with solid brakes – who just believes that variety is the spice of life! Addie also long lines well and has been hitched a few times; she has the temperament to be a great driving prospect. Unlike many busy-brained horses, however, she is also quite content out of work, and if you’re looking for a broodmare, lineage of this caliber doesn’t become available very often More details and video available at https://sodarfarms.com/heidie-hte/
