Currently Duvalin is working on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon. He moves/gathers cattle, has done some sorting and branding and holding cows, opens gates, crosses water, you can rope off him and drag tires. We have started shooting off of him using his saddle as a rest as well as being mounted and shooting over his head and from the sides, he doesn’t even flinch an ear, he is very calm and level headed.
He is easy to catch and loves attention. He is not spooky and goes in any trailer. Stands for the farrier and is easy to mess with. He has a calm personality and is more whoa than go but strong and stout. Duvalin has a big engine and a great mind, but he is best suited for trail rides rather than all-day trail marathons. Perfect for someone looking for an energetic, responsive partner for shorter, more focused work. He lunges, clips, bathes, fly spray/mask/sheet. Knows all basic W/T/C and moves off your leg nicely, he is not fancy broke.
He would be good for someone to continue working cows as he likes a job, he is great on trails and walking out and would be a great trail riding partner. He shows potential with roping, he could be a rodeo prospect. He is not a beginner or kids horse even with his cool personality, but he sure likes the attention and treats they give him. Duvalin requires a confident, assertive rider to unlock his true potential and form an exceptional partnership.
