5-Year-Old Morgan × Quarter Horse Mare | Approx. 14hh
This is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to write.
Mira has been so much more than just a horse to me. She's been my best friend, my confidence, and the sweetest little mare I could have ever asked for. If I could keep every horse I've ever loved, she would never be leaving. But because I can't, I'm determined to find her a home that will love her just as much as I do.
Mira is the first one waiting at the gate every day with her ears forward, hoping she's the one getting picked. She has the sweetest puppy-dog personality and absolutely loves people. She'll lower her head for her halter, stands quietly for grooming, tacking, and the farrier, trailers beautifully, ties anywhere, and has never pulled back. She truly just wants to be with you.
What I've always loved most about Mira is her heart. She has never once said no when I've asked her to try something new. (When she had only about 15 rides), she was already quietly riding around cattle, other horses, and in a completely unfamiliar arena. She has never been herd-bound, happily works on her own, can pony another horse or be ponied herself, and doesn't mind a rope being swung from her back.
One of my favorite memories with her happened on only her second ride ever in an outdoor arena. It was windy, she'd never seen a Working Equitation course before, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. She quietly crossed the bridge, opened the gate, and completed every obstacle without ever questioning me. That was the day I realized there wasn't much this little mare wouldn't try if I asked.
Mira rides Western and English, has a beautiful walk, trot, lope, a great stop, and the smoothest jog. She's naturally more "whoa" than "go," has started over fences, and I truly think she'd make an amazing hunter/jumper, all-around, or ranch partner.
She's been to multiple clinics, has started learning barrel patterns, and has competed in two schooling shows, consistently placing 2nd, while earning 1st in a trail class with a bridge and gate. She especially loves Showmanship and Working Equitation, where her quiet confidence really shines.
She isn't a finished kid's horse yet, simply because she's still young and deserves more miles before carrying someone much younger. But she has been ridden by many different people, and every single time she's taken care of them. She truly doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
More than anything, I want someone to love Mira for who she is, not just for what she can do. She's the kind of horse that meets you at the gate, tries her heart out every ride, and somehow makes every bad day a little better.
Whoever ends up with this little mare is going to be incredibly lucky. I know because I already have been. ❤️
