Atlas is a truly special horse with an incredible personality. He is calm, affectionate, people-oriented, and genuinely enjoys spending time with his humans. He is a big, lovable horse with a wonderful temperament and the potential to excel in many different directions.

Atlas has primarily been a trail horse for us, although he has also attended a few shows for fun. He is willing and confident on the trail and will go over, through, or past just about anything I point him toward. He is the type of horse who is happy to explore and try new things. I believe he could be an excellent high school equestrian team or performance horse prospect for the right person. He learns quickly, is intelligent, and has a lot of potential for someone who wants to continue developing him.

One of Atlas’s best qualities is his reliability. He can sit for weeks and I can get on him without needing to lunge him or spend significant time bringing him back into work. He is an easy keeper and does well living in a natural herd environment with plenty of room to move, graze, and play.

Atlas is currently the leader of his small herd and is confident and assertive with other horses. He can also be very “in your pocket” with people and loves attention. He does best with clear, consistent boundaries and responds well when ground rules are established.

Atlas does have a club foot on his front right. We have not experienced problems with it, but it is an important part of his history and should be considered by any potential buyer. Appropriate, knowledgeable hoof care is important, and buyers should work with a farrier or hoof-care professional experienced with club feet to determine the best ongoing management for him.

Atlas lives on our family farm approximately an hour from our home. Because of the distance and because we are not in a hurry to sell him, I will be very selective about scheduling showings. I would like to have several conversations with serious, qualified buyers and answer questions before arranging an in-person visit.

We are not selling Atlas because we have to. We are selling him because our daughter is heading off to college, and unfortunately, he will not be ridden as much as he deserves. Atlas is an amazing horse with so much to offer, and we want to find him the right next chapter and a wonderful home where his potential can continue to be developed.

He is a special horse, and finding the right fit is much more important to us than making a quick sale.
