Striking 2016 Andalusian Gelding – Athletic, Versatile, and Ready for a Partner
Meet Áska, a 15.1hh 2016 Andalusian gelding with presence, heart, and a solid foundation. Professionally started by EG Horse & Mule Training at 4 years old, he has a versatile background including dressage, trail riding, and entry-level working equitation. Goes english or western.
The Good:
He moves nicely through all three gaits, is soft in the bridle, and responsive to light cues. Áska is a smart, forward-thinking horse with a 7/10 temperament; he is highly intelligent and enjoys having a job. Has lateral work, shoulder-in, haunches-in, turn on the forehand, turn on haunch, and started walk to canter transitions. Will do all WE obstacles no problem including passing through water and over tarps. Stands to be mounted from ground or block, quiet for farrier, loads quietly, good ground manners and easy to catch.
Needs:
Because he is athletic and bright, Áska is best suited for a confident, experienced rider who can provide consistent leadership. He thrives in a structured program; he is a horse that needs a regular job to be at his best.
Con:If he has been out of consistent work, he has recently started expressing extra energy by randomly bucking when asked to canter. Not all the time and this has only happened a few times, but when it does, it is not pretty, and it’s not something we have the time or desire to work through.
The Right Fit:
Áska is ready to step back into a consistent training program and reach his full potential with a new partner. I have a large library of videos available upon request, and PPEs are welcome. Healthy, no maintenance, easy keeper, does wear two front shoes. We've had this horse since six months old.
Price: not as concerned about $$ as we are with finding him a good experienced home with trainer and or experienced rider and long term partner.
