Gatsby is a quiet, well rounded gelding. He has been used in our lesson program, my daughter used him in 4-H (English, Western, Bareback), he has been trail ridden, low jumps, Playdays (Barrels, Poles, Figure 8, Stake Race) and just an overall pleasure horse. Gatsby does trail obstacles such as bridges, poles, tires, ditches, hills etc... and he does have all the basic commands for backing, side-passing, haunch turns, forehand turns etc... He doesn't have a solid neck rein yet but has the concept. Gatsby is calm in stalls or fields, alone or in herds. He ties, bathes, clips (not a fan of his ears for this), stands politely for the farrier (he hasn't needed shoes) and he is safe to be around and ride, but occasionally still finds things he isn't as confident about as he still is young, but his typical response is fairly quiet. Gatsby is ready to find his family. He is best suited to his daily rider being an Adv. Beginner or higher. Gatsby is not a speed horse. He can tap into it when asked, but he prefers the casual life and is happy to do just about anything you ask of him. He is a very mellow gelding. Vet checks welcome at buyers expense. Any questions welcome!
