Daphne is a 5-year-old mare with a solid walk, trot, and canter, a soft back, and a smooth, easy stop. She rides both English and Western, has been started over jumps, and has also had plenty of bareback riding. She is learning trail and Showmanship currently. This mare has been exposed to a little bit of everything. She will ride out alone or happily go in a group and is one of the most sure-footed horses in my barn. She is currently being used in lessons with children 10 and under, is being shown by a youth rider, and is also being leased as a solo trail mount for an adult. On the ground, Daphne is just as easy to have around. She will stand tied for hours, whether in cross ties or tied to a wall, and bathes great. She will pony herself up to a mounting block and even knows how to lay down for mounting. She was started I'm dressage before I bought her, and has maintained a balanced and solid way of going. One of my favorite things about Daphne is her honesty. She isn't a deadhead—she has a personality and will tell you what she's feeling—but she does so without turning it into a meltdown. She's sensible, good-natured, sweet, and the kind of mare you can build a relationship with.
