Rusty is a 12-year-old grade Quarter Horse gelding with the athleticism, brain, and versatility to head in just about any direction his next person wants to take him.

🌲 TRAILS:
Rusty has plenty of trail miles under his belt and is happy tackling hills, water, bridges, uneven terrain, and whatever else you find along the way. He will ride out alone or in a group and is a confident traveler. In a group, he’d much rather be up front leading the adventure than staring at someone else’s butt all day.

🤠 WESTERN/RANCH:
In the arena, Rusty is soft in the bridle, responsive, has an easy natural stop, and comfortable transitions. He has all the pieces to step into the local ranch riding/show scene and continue developing from there.

🦊 ENGLISH/JUMPING:
Here’s where this goofy Quarter Horse might surprise you.

Rusty has been confidently jumping 2’3” under saddle and shows a TON of natural ability over fences. He will free jump a 4’ vertical with ease, showing plenty of scope and athleticism to continue moving up with the right rider.

We could absolutely see him being developed toward eventing, fox hunting, hunter derbies, or just becoming one heck of a fun all-around English horse.

⚡ SPEED EVENTS:
Want to turn some barrels or poles too? Go for it. Rusty has the athleticism and willingness to dabble in gymkhana, barrels, poles, and other speed events.

Now for the part we DON’T sugarcoat:

Rusty is quirky. 😂

He’s playful, goofy, occasionally spooky, and has a whole lot of personality packed into one horse. He’s the type that will keep you laughing and occasionally remind you that yes, you did in fact purchase a living animal with opinions.

He’s a giant puppy dog on the ground and a solid, enjoyable horse under saddle, but he is not being advertised as a dead-broke, bombproof babysitter. He deserves a rider who appreciates a horse with some personality and wants to continue developing all the talent he has to offer.

Rusty would be an absolute BLAST for someone wanting one horse they can take down the trail, into the ranch ring, over fences, and maybe around a barrel pattern too.

He’s got the foundation.
He’s got the athleticism.
He’s got the personality.
