Lusitano Sporthorse available for lease——
O’Hara’s Duarte “Duey” is a 2008 15.2-15.3 hand homebred Lusitano TB cross. His mother our homebred Thoroughbred mare a descendant of Denny Emerson’s Loyal Pal and his father Quadro an imported Portuguese Lusitano out of what used to be New Gait Manor in Weare, NH. Duey is very special to us!
He has done it all from Eventing to Dressage to Western , trail riding to 4H , gymkhana and the High School Equestrian Team competitions. Nothing seems to phase him anymore! He trailers well and is great for the farrier and vet. He absolutely loves the water and going to the beach! He hasn’t jumped as much in the last few years but would be able to get back into it with the right conditioning. He really is a horse that can be ridden infrequently and still be safe and go well. He is wonderful for kids riding camps and beginner lessons although he could use a knowledgeable rider unless they are working directly with instruction.
His current beloved Leasor is going off to college this August. He is an easy keeper, barefoot, without maintenance except a daily smart pak . On farm lease at a beautiful private barn in Deering, NH. We would consider off farm for certain circumstances.
