Sniper is the kind that they call “born broke”! He is the gentlest soul and has the best personality. We have owned him since he was a yearling and have done all of his training so he has been started right and is cool, calm, and confident in all situations. I don’t call anything bomb proof, especially a 3 year old, but he is pretty unflappable as you can see in his video! Due to his age and drafts slower rate of maturity, we haven’t put a lot of pressure on him as far as performance goes but he’s not a heavy footed typical draft. He has floaty movement and is incredibly smooth and comfortable to ride even bareback. Sniper is good with everything! He leads, loads, stands tied quietly, stands to mount, and ponies and can be ponied off of. He has good feet and doesn’t require shoes. He is good for the farrier and can even be trimmed with an electric grinder. Sniper is good in a mixed herd or stalled and is just really uncomplicated. He absolutely loves people and so will be his natural goofy fun loving self. He loves to play with water and toys. He is confident riding by himself and doesn’t need a buddy. Sniper is used to my 5 year old son and all of the craziness that comes with that such as bikes, balls, trampolines, and even a bouncy house (all in the video!!) He has seen lots of wildlife and is attentive but not spooky in the least. He is sure footed and will pick his way through the worst of terrain. He will plow through thick brush if you ask him to and even getting a big branch that caught him in the flank didn’t fluster him. He allowed me to step off and maneuver him around in order to pull the branch out and then mount up and back on our way. He will ride bareback in a halter just as easily as all tacked up. He’s easy to catch and actually is hard NOT to catch because he is in your back pocket always! Sniper has been ridden in the arena but he really enjoys being out on the trail and seeing new things. Due to some recent findings, he is not going to be suited for jumping but will be able to do anything lower level and be fancy doing it! The video is slightly older so I need to update some things because he just gets handier broke every day. He now has the start to a spin and will side pass as well as collect up and has even been roped off of. This is the coolest gentle giant and has been so fun to bring along! I had intended on keeping him to start colts but with a torn knee I’m just trying to cut down and unfortunately the nicest are the first to go. Come meet him and you will fall in love too!! Located in Harper, Texas but we have a great hauler and can arrange delivery anywhere at very reasonable rates. We are more than happy to FaceTime anyone interested! Gehring Ranch 830-329-6472
