Frederick has spent the last year doing primarily ground work (TRT method) and has just restarted again under saddle. In the ring he is soft and willing at the walk (currently rides bitless) with a lovely halt from the seat, but is very reluctant to move forward at the trot/canter due to weakness in his hind end. Needs a confident rider to get him out and moving on the trail to build up his muscling and stamina. Fantastic at liberty and an absolute sweetheart in the barn. Very brave and super smart (his blessing and his curse). Would do best in a facility where he can be turned out and ridden with friends his size (currently lives with two minis). Very friendly with people, horses, dogs, kids - always greets you with a nicker and a nuzzle. Barefoot and sound, good for farrier and vet. UTD on shots, dental, and Coggins. Old bow left front from his time on the track that has never given him any trouble but makes him unsuitable for jumping. Located in Nelson, NH. References required.
