The good:
Grade KMH mare 11yrs old, Rides everywhere on the trail, rides front, back, middle. NEVER spooky, goes through water, will swim in water, self loads on the trailer, clips, bathes, great with other horses. Never bites, kicks or is nasty. She is HANDS DOWN the best riding horse I have ever had!
The “bad”
she needs to be on a dry lot. she was fine last year on pasture, but this year has been ouchy on her front feet. Did X-rays on all 4 feet, (little to no rotation) and bloodwork. Blood work shows IR and low thyroid.
This horse will HAVE TO BE ON A DRY LOT FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE, ABSOLUTELY NO GRASS. Unless VERY strictly monitored. right now, her hay is weighed and soaked, with 1lb of teff grass pellets soaked and mad barn amino trace plus. She is also on insulin wise,1scoop once a day and thyro -L. One scoop once a day. Once she reaches her target weight, she can go off the Thyro-L All medical information will be accessible to interested parties.
