Khonshu BPF is a 4-year-old sooty buckskin Azteca gelding who embodies everything people hope to find in a young horse - athletic, trainable, forgiving, and endlessly kind. A true Labrador Retriever in a horse's body, he genuinely loves people and wants nothing more than to be your partner. Sired by an Andalusian and out of a Quarter Horse mare, he blends the athleticism and elegance of the Iberian breeds with the level-headed versatility of the Quarter Horse.
Equally at home in English or Western tack, Khonshu is the definition of a true all-around partner. Despite his age, he has already competed successfully through Third Level Dressage and has experience at both rated dressage and open western shows. He confidently performs shoulder-in, haunches-in, leg yields, half pass, and correct pivots, yet remains soft, uncomplicated, and forgiving enough to carry beginner riders in lessons. He is currently schooling lead changes as well! He is happy to continue what he's currently doing or has an endless amount of potential for someone who wants to take him to the next level. Balanced between "whoa" and "go," he has the kind of willing attitude that makes every ride enjoyable.
Outside the arena, Khonshu is just as dependable. He trail rides confidently alone or in a group, crosses water and bridges, is comfortable in traffic, is gun broke, has pushed cattle, and has been used for clinics, expos, obstacle challenges, and skijoring. He is happy riding bareback or bridleless and approaches new situations with confidence and curiosity, making him the kind of horse you'll reach for whether you're heading to a horse show, the trail, or simply out for an evening ride.
His fun-loving personality is just the icing on the cake. Khonshu enjoys showing off tricks including the Spanish walk, bow, laying down on cue, and standing proudly on a pedestal.
