Cashmere is a 7yr old Fjord Draft Cross mare that stands about 14.3 hands tall and is stout enough to carry a bigger rider. She RIDES & DRIVES! She has also been trained to lay down and will even sit up like a dog sometimes!

Cash is a very intelligent and calm minded horse that learns quickly and isn’t phased easily. She doesn’t care a bit about traffic she has seen it all from bikes, motorcycles, razors, to semis she doesn’t care one bit whether you are driving or riding her. I have driven her downtown and she did just great with all the hustle and bustle.

She will go anywhere out on the trail through creeks, rivers, over bridges and logs. She has good ground manners and will stand well for mounting, saddling, and picking up her feet. She loads and hauls well in the trailer. She can go front, back, or middle in a group. And she doesn’t mind staying behind and will stay walking if the other horse takes off without her. She will also separate away from the other horses and leaves home alone just fine.

We actually bought Cash straight from the breeder so we know her entire history and there are NO unknowns with her at all. Her dad is a registered Fjord and her Mom was a Percheron cross. Cash is actually the first Fjord I’ve ever owned and I was pleasantly surprised with just how intelligent they are as well as un-phased. Because we actually bought Cash’s siblings as well so I have a few of the Fjord crosses now and they all have that same intelligent and calm nature. I am now a Fjord fan for life.

Now under harness I would recommend her for an intermediate driver or basically someone that knows what they are doing. Only because if you haven’t driven her in awhile sometimes she can be fidgety about standing for hitching and at the stop signs. She is NOT hard to handle at all and I can still hitch her by myself without any help she just gets a little impatient but nothing hard to handle. But that is why I would call her an intermediate level for a driver. If it weren’t for that I would call her a beginner driver. She does have beginner potential because she’s just so quiet.

Under saddle she knows how to move off of your legs and picks up her leads. She is on the slower side but she will move out when asked. She will stop off of your seat. And from the driving part of her she knows the words whoa, easy, walk on, and trot.

She is NOT easily spooked. She is quite used to having a doggy sidekick that runs full blast up behind her through the brush and sometimes through the water. We’ve had multiple deer and other wildlife out on the trail jump out and it doesn’t bother her a bit. She’s very level headed that way. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s that beautiful buckskin dun color with those highlights in her mane! I get compliments all the time on her she really does stand out in a crowd.
