Forest is a 10-year-old bay Off-the-Track Thoroughbred with a kind heart and a lot of potential. He came off the track with the goal of becoming an eventing horse and has since been ridden primarily in English disciplines. He has been started over ground poles, schooled mostly in the arena, and has experience out on the trails. Forest has always been a sweet boy who enjoys having a job and building a connection with his person. He is the type of horse that thrives on consistency and routine. Unfortunately, my path has changed, and I am no longer able to give him the regular work and attention he deserves. Because of that, I would love to find someone who can help him reach his full potential. On the trail, Forest is generally a good partner but does best with a confident rider who can provide reassurance when needed. He is not a beginner's horse and would be best suited for an intermediate or experienced rider who enjoys continuing a horse's education and developing a partnership. Forest stands well for the farrier and has decent ground manners. He responds best to a firm but kind approach and appreciates someone who is clear and consistent with expectations. He does weave and may paw when bored, though the pawing has decreased significantly over the years with regular turnout and routine. He is turned out daily and brought into a paddock at night. Forest gets along well with other horses, settles nicely into a herd environment, and enjoys being part of a group. He is playful, social, and easy to have around the barn. Forest is not a finished horse, but he is a genuinely sweet one. With the right rider and a consistent program, I believe he will make a wonderful partner for someone looking for a horse they can grow with and enjoy for years to come. Finding the right home is most important to me, and I would love to see him with someone who will appreciate the good horse he is and continue helping him become his best self.
