After retiring from the track in 2022, Ninetynine Excuses spent his first year of retraining in a professional program successfully working towards, and competing in the 2023 Retired Racehorse Project's Thoroughbred Makeover in both the show and field hunters. Since then, "Nine" has been fox hunting for private members of Greenspring Valley Hounds, and while he has thrived as a family horse, they are downsizing and thought he may enjoy getting back into a more competitive, or at least all around program. Having recently returned to full-time professional training, Nine is loving life back in the ring and trying new things. He took a junior around Starter level for his first schooling event ever, and then stepped up to Beginner Novice with an amateur who had never evented herself. In his return to the show hunters, he jumped right around without so much as hacking in the morning, got a college amateur back in the ring after a two year hiatus, and then walked straight into the jumper ring for both of their first times. Beyond versatile, Nine could truly go in any direction, or dabble in several. Want to event one weekend, and show the next? He's already done it! Want to join in on the fun of the new Thoroughbred Derbies? He'd love to! Great jumper, cute mover, EASY change, brave, and incredibly kind and willing. Hacks out alone or in company, and loves hunter trials and paces. Already proven junior/amateur friendly in a program, this is not one to miss!
