Dexter is my own personal horse so he is trainer owned. Was not started until he was 3. He needs a job. He loves having a job. I have thrown so many random people on him at shows and he goes in and wins the class or is top 3. I’m offering this big talented gelding to the perfect home at a discounted price IF it’s the perfect fit. I love having him around but I don’t love I can’t find anyone to ride and show him. He’s not open world show quality but he would take a youth or novice extremely far. He has a lot to offer and his prime years are going to waste. This guy would be perfect for a starter horse or someone that wants a great show horse on a budget. He has the look. He has no vices and is a sweet boy. He knows hus, drives, trail rides, bareback, eq, and does well in performance halter. He might walk jog for open or weekend shows but please don’t ask me if this 17.2 hand horse will western pleasure lope. I won’t even respond to you. I’m not big on sms and never taught him that but I’m sure he would catch on quick. Clip his ears without a halter, best horse on the trailer, easy at shows, can turn him out with anyone. He is parrot mouthed but it’s never been a problem- just keep up on his teeth. He’s won a lot of halter classes, eats fine, and bits don’t bother him. Have regular front aluminums on. His feet get crumbly in the summer is the only “foot issue” Has not had any navicular changes. His hocks have only ever been injected once. Neck is clean.
The kicker and why he’s cheap(er)
He has kissing spine. Injections once a year keep him sound and happy. He will not do well locked in a 12x12 stall. He gets muscle sore and drags his hind left leg. THATS IT. He is currently in a stall that has a small run and he does great. The more exercise to keep his muscles worked, the better. Surgery could be an option down the road but my surgeon says as long as the injections work, he’s good to go. Current on everything and just waiting for his person.
