“Poe” is a 2021 APHA/PtHA gelding by John Simon out of an Opposition/Tuffernmister granddaughter. Started at three and not pushed with plenty time to grow. Currently 16.1H with a big presence, Poe will make a wonderful all-around partner with more time being put to consistent work and some patience.
Going good w/t under saddle, with a jog to die for, but still green at the canter. Moves off leg and has a good start collecting up. All training done by an Amateur.
Lunges like a superstar and has excellent voice commands. Was started with plans of one day being shared with a youth rider at shows. Has given a couple intermediate-beginner lessons at home and likes kids but needs many more show miles before he will be a packer.
Poe has been hauled to shows to be shown in halter and showmanship classes. Exposed to all the prep and beautifying that goes along with that. Hauled off the property to trail ride with a group and he will do it, but not his favorite.
Hauls and bathes wonderfully, needs a twitch to clip but nothing to horrible. Currently is shod but only because I had plans to show this year not that he needs them.
His slow start and back burner learning is no fault of his but mine with a new promotion causing a shift in less time for horses. He is still green but has far too much potential to be sitting in my back yard waiting for me to find time for him, he deserves a special person to bring him into the show world. Special consideration to an adult ammy or mom and teens with a trainer.
