Max — 8-Year-Old Percheron Gelding, Amish-Trained Meet Max, a striking 8-year-old Percheron gelding with the kind of gentle, steady temperament this breed is known for. Formally trained and owned by an Amish family, Max was worked as a pulling horse and brings the strength, work ethic, and solid ground manners that come with that background. Sweet-natured and never spooky, Max has a calm, willing disposition that makes him a pleasure to be around. His size and power make him an excellent candidate for a trail horse — sure-footed, unbothered by the unexpected, and ready for a new job. Given his size and strength, Max is best suited to an experienced handler comfortable with larger draft breeds. In the right hands, he'll be a devoted, easygoing partner for years to come. Max weighs at least 2,000 lb and is in very good health. He is unshod currently. As with most giant breeds he is unaware of his own strength and size and needs a human partner that knows how to work with him safely and with kindness and understanding. He is PRECIOUS and I will be selective about choosing his new owner.
